History

The History of The European University –Republic of Macedonia begins with the foundation of The Faculty of Social Sciences in 2001. The activities at The European University were recognized on 01.06.2005 when it was accredited by The Accreditation Board of Republic of Macedonia. Based on that, The European University-Republic of Macedonia is the first and the only private accredited university in the region which offers a modern education and which permanently develops and awards the process of acquiring knowledge according to the modern world educational trends.

The following 2006 is impressive in founding and accreditation (November 2006) of three new faculties: Faculty of Communication and Media, Faculty of Public Administration and The Faculty of Art and Design. Until then there were two faculties-The Faculty of Economic Sciences and The Faculty of Informatics which satisfied the growing needs for modern education in The Republic of Macedonia and the region.

Besides that, the same year (18.05.2006) based on the decision number 12 of The Accreditation of Republic of Macedonia, the adequacy of the programs of The European University according to the European standards of the 3+2 module of studying was confirmed. In the beginning of 2009 The First Private European University-Republic of Macedonia made an elaborate for application of the solutions and the provisions of the new act for high education. At present there are seven faculties at The European University-Republic of Macedonia:

  2. Faculty of Informatics
  3. Faculty of Law
  4. Faculty of Political Science
  5. Faculty of Art and Design
  6. Faculty of Detectives and Criminology
  7. Faculty of Dentistry


The European University – Republic of Macedonia is established into a University that continuously develops and improves the process of acquiring knowledge and education, creating very high educative and competitive atmosphere. EURM opts for quality in order to apply the best practices from the higher education system in its performance. As a result, EURM has become a member of IACBE in 2005, and after fulfilling all necessary conditions, on 04.08.2005 it was granted the status of a candidate for accreditation. Following the IACBE principles, EURM has developed an Outcomes assessment plan as a basis for the evaluation process in the academic year 2006/2007.
