Biography

Namicev has graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the “Ss.Cyril and Methodius” University, Skopje in 1983. He completed his Master studies at the University of Architecture in Belgrade with a master’s thesis topic “Comparative typology of spatial and art-aesthetic elements of a typical house in the Recansko region, at the beginning of the 20th century”, in1997. He defended his doctoral dissertation in Skopje, titled “Typology and ethnology of the Macedonian house between late 19th and early 20th century”, in 2005.

Work Experience

During the period 1985 - 2009 he has been working at the Museum of Macedonia as a curator– mentor for national architecture and carved ceilings.  
In the period between1993–2008 he has been an active national representative in various international organizations (such as ICOM, ICOMOS, CIAV, ICME ect.) and participated in many international projects and conferences in the area of museology, ethnology and cultural heritage protection.  
Between 1998 and 2004 he was assigned Head of the Ethnology Department at the National Museum of Macedonia, Skopje.
In October 2009 he joined the European University team in Skopje, where he was assigned as a Teaching Assistant of several subjects at the Interior Design Department.

Science and Research

In the period between 1985-2009 he participated in various researches, in conservation of six archeological localities, in over thirty ethnological research projects, among which the International Polish-Macedonian collaboration project (1994-2000).

Screenwriting for the following Scientific Documentaries: The Carve in Macedonian Houses, MRT, Skopje (1995); The Macedonian house, MRT, Skopje (2000); Dimitri Jankov, the Carver from Ohrid, Museum of Macedonia, Skopje (2006)

Publication of  more than 30 scientific-research papers in local and international magazines:
Independent monographs: Landliche architectur in Mazedonien, Heft 6, Kittsee, 1996; Maleshevo, National Civil Engineering Pioneers I, Museum of Macedonia, Skopje, 1998; National Architecture in the Rekansko region, Museum of Macedonia, Skopje, 2000; Pianec, the Civil Architecture National Civil Engineering Pioneers II; Museum of Macedonia, Skopje, 2002; Govrlevo is not dying, Slovenia, 2004; The Rural Architecture in South-west Macedonia National Civil Engineering Pioneers III, Museum of Macedonia, Skopje, 2005; The Development of the Macedonian Rural House, National Civil Engineering Pioneers IV, Museum of Macedonia, Skopje, 2007; The Macedonian Rural House National Civil Engineering Pioneers V, Museum of Macedonia, Skopje, 2009.

He is author of five independent exhibitions carried out in Macedonia, Poland, France, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Croatia ecc.
