The founding of a Faculty of Detectives and Criminology for producing professionals in this area is of great importance, especially taking into account Republic of Macedonia’s need for strengthening its crime prevention capacities as well as for opening detective agencies, which had been stalled due to the lack of proper higher education institutions to train students into professionals. It is the same situation with private security agencies.
The study programs of the Faculty of Detectives and Criminology offer a wide spectrum of subjects in the fields of criminology, criminal law, criminalistics, security sciences, the field of detectives and so on. Young people have shown great interest in studying these subjects, most of all due to the challenge to be introduced into a field of study that requires application of diverse sciences and scientific disciplines as well as a high level of skills in the areas of security and crime fighting. The task of the future criminalists, security experts at state institutions or private companies, private investigators and analysts, and a range of other professionals, will be complex and hard, but very interesting at the same time. Coping with dynamics and uncertainty calls for good assessment and proper response, and the development of the modern society, the technology and the globalization create a never ceasing need for application of new methods. It is thus important to always learn in order to be successful. The study program of the Faculty of Detectives and Criminology and the integrated study programs of the First Private University, European University ensure excellent training and achievement of impressive results.
In order to turn its mission into reality, the Faculty is fully dedicated to: maintaining a high level of knowledge as our major priority; enabling continuous progress and academic improvement of our students; continuously improving the process of education by employing the best security-related teaching activities of renowned higher education institutions; and establishing cooperative relations with international education institutions to nurture our academic growth.
