

Jadran Kalkovski was born on 20th of February, 1951 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. He is an Assistant Professor on Special Physical Education at the First Private University, European University – Skopje. He finished the postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Physical Education in Skopje, where he obtained the PhD degree as well.
In period 1974-1976 he was working as a physical therapist in the Military Hospital, continuing his career as a teacher on physical education at the Primary School “Mosha Pijade”-Skopje (1976) and as a teacher in the Military Barracks “Goce Delchev” (1977-1992) where he participated in planning and performing of the regular physical education system. From 1994 to 1996 he worked as physical education officer in the Military Barracks “Gjorce Petrov”-Skopje and from 1996 on he was employed as an instructor in physical education at the Military Academy (Department for Physical Education and Sport) in Skopje where he achieved the title Assistant Professor.
In relation with his professional upgrading, it is worth to mention that he has participated on a lot of domestic and international scientific meetings with his own papers and presentations and has written many articles for the magazine “Defence” (“Odbrana”). He is an author of a book on physical education that is used by the ARM (Army of the Republic of Macedonia).
As a young associate, researcher and main coordinator, he participated in several national research projects initiated by ARM and Ministry of Defence.
From 1966 he has started his active sport's career in the Volleyball Club “Rabotnicki” – Skopje - member of the second state league of Yugoslavia. At that time he was an active participant at the Juniour State Chamionships presenting the Juniour Representation of Macedonia and later he joined the senior team.
In 1986, as soon as he had stoped the active playing, he took part in training the young representation personnel in the Volleyball Club “Rabotnicki”-Skopje.
As a member of the Volleyball Club “Rabotnicki”-Skopje – seniors, he has participated on many international tournaments.
He was a member of the expert's headquarter of the Macedonian Female Young Representation, in the function of physical therapist, during the process of qualification for the World Chamionship in Brasil, 1994.

Active participation in the physical education of graduating students – alumni (preparation and performance of the special forms of physical education - in winter (ski) and summer (swimming) conditions.
Active training to special purpose units on special forms of physical education in winter and summer conditions (skiing and survival in winter conditions).
Selector and trainer of the Army Representation on the 53rd World Army Championship in cross-country race held in Switzerland 2008, organised by the World Army Sports Federation – CISAM.
Member of the Working group for drafting the Strategy on sports development and recreation, within the Ministry of Defence and ARM.
Member of the Coordination Body within the Macedionan Olympic Commitee (MOK) that drafts the National Strategy for sport development in the Republic of Macedonia.
