Biography:

Biljana Janeva has attended primary and high school in Skopje. She was an exchange AFS student and attended her senior year at Northfield school for girls, USA.  On October 2nd, 1973 she graduated mathematics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje. In 1981 she defended her master thesis at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Zagreb, R. Croatia: Finitely presented groups with solvable word problem, under the mentorship of Prof. M. Mihaljinec. She completed her PhD in 1989, at the  Faculty of natural Sciences and Mathematics defending the thesis: Some classes of polyadic semi-groups and groups, under the mentorship of Acad Gjorgi Cupona.


She has published many papers in home and International magazines.

Work Experience:

In 1974 she was elected as an assistant of mathematics at the  Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematic, Institute of Mathematics.  After completing the PhD, in 1990, she was elected as assistant professor at the  Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematic, Institute of Informatics. She was elected for the first time as a full time professor in 2000 at the same Faculty. She is, at present, a full time professor at the Faculty of Informatics, at the European University – Republic of Macedonia.

Science and Research:

She has been a mentor of the several master thesis, and at the present, of a PhD theses in algebra.

She has attended many international conferences in algebra in Belgrade, Zagreb, Novi Sad, Maribor, Cetinje, Sarajevo in the former SFRY, all the conferences of algebra and logic LIRA in Novi Sad, many algebraic conferences in Austria and Germany, as well as summer schools in algebra in Olomouc and High Tatri.

She has been a lecturer of  the scholl od Fuzzy Logic, Struga 2006, under the programme DAAD.

Has been a member of the investigating team or a manager of projects in algebra. At the moment, a member of the team of a project managed by Blagoj Popov, member of the Academy of Science and Arts of Macedonia.
